Six Apart trying to expand blogs
I still feel like I am just tipping the iceberg on the use of blogs and all that they can be used for. In an article - http://news.zdnet.com/2100-9595_22-6050756.html - I recently stumbled upon, Six Apart, a provider of blogging software, seems to have taken a big step towards expanding blogs internationally. Some of their focal points for this expansion will hopefully broaden my knowledge about the use of blogs.
Six Apart said "that they recently received about $12 million in a third round of funding funding for use in new products, international expansion and growth."
The article also states that in total Six Apart has raised about $23 million since it founded four years ago.
One of the ways that the company wishes to improve blogs is by allowing office workers to talk with their co-workers, in contrast to personal blogs, where the audience mainly consists of friends.
I think this is a good idea. I am sure stuff like this happens over email and such, but a system that would allow everone associated with these blogs to see what everyone else has to say, which they might not be able to through email, would surely create new ideas and an easiler way to communicate with others.
